september saturdays sales stock

Its been a difficult month trying to publicise the stall , run it every other saturday and make my stock appealing but with a bit of a cash injection this month things should really get up and running! :) I am now the proud owner of a professionally printed A-board (the above design) which shall sit very proudly outside the shop and I have now reduced other committments so I am able to run the stall every saturday instead of every other, making it alot more convenient for shoppers and targeting passers by. I am also on the look out for another clothes rail to improve the appearance and 'brows-ability' of my stock as well as looking into sourcing some vintage t-shirts for a more laid back/casual option as a sale soon approaches for the summer clothing I still hold. Fingers crossed all of these aspects will bring in extra business just in time for me to get a load of fabulousy exciting and original winter stock!!!!!!!!! retro printed sweaters and beaded mohair galour :)

life as a stall holder

The photo shoot went well, it was just a small one with photography done by myself to start off with and I took the photos in the shop where my stall is, amongst all the antique furniture which I thought was an apt setting :) the model was brill and after a bit of editing I was left with some very effective shots. I have uploaded some samples. I have opened the stall on several saturdays now as my working hours have been reduced so I am able to concentrate more on this venture. Business is slow but theres alot to do and I have still made some sales. I am working on tranforming an old paste table into an A-board at the moment so I can put it out in the street to attract passers by (pics will follow if i dont muck it up too badly :s) and more rails are neccessary I think as the clothing tends to get a bit crowded but its still a working progress and I am just glad to have a base from which i can run my business!!!! :D I have also teamed up with a friend who is a very able seamstress and has taken to making baby dresses so am now selling her clothing alongside mine to appeal to a broader market. all details of the baby clothing will follow shortly.

posters and pictures

So this is a pic of the poster i made to advertise the pop up shop! im not going to lie, it was challenging to say the least. but i got there in the end and i am quite pleased with the result! :) i may use it for more posters and just change the details until the shop has made enough money to pay for a personal design to be made.

As you can see from the poster the pop up shop was held on saturday and was a brilliant experience. the custom was few but the posters still attracted some saturday shoppers which i was really pleased about! The first one was mainly about the experience and marketing though and its all paid off because the shop owner has offered a permenant position! :) all very exciting stuff and now providing me with a tonne of MORE stuff to sort out and arrange lol. plus i am now going to have to manipulate my work rota in some way so i can start off holding the pop up shop every other saturday....or an a as and when basis? who knows, lots to sort out but first things first, PHOTO SHOOT!!! i will keep you updated ;) xxxxxxx

Pop up shop

Well it's been a while since our last vintage fair due to other commitments and not being able to get time off work! But we have our names down for a jumble fair on July 21st so hopefully they will be able to squeeze us in as I know it's been very busy! We have also been experimenting with some new stock, sourcing vintage jeans and customising them :) they have received great feedback and sell well on eBay! We are also beginning to concentrate our efforts on finding some space locally to hold a pop up shop so we can generate some attention if u like within our own town. We have found a cute antique and second hand furniture store that are more than happy to let us set up a stall on Saturdays so fingers crossed I will be able to work something out with my employment :)

Northampton Fair

Our second fair in Northampton

Today we attended the fair at the spinney hill pub gardens on the kettering road and it was such a fabulous day! gorgeous sunshine and everyone was in fantastic spirits. it was a much better turn out than the first fair in terms of stalls and customers and we felt alot more comfortable having already done it before. we felt we had learnt alot already from the first fair as we were very much getting to grips with the process. we arrived early and set up in no time with no problems what so ever. well apart from severe sunburn but thats another subject entirely. todays fair was arranged by the same person as the buckingham one and we hope to attend more with them as they are brilliantly executed.
