Northampton Fair

Our second fair in Northampton

Today we attended the fair at the spinney hill pub gardens on the kettering road and it was such a fabulous day! gorgeous sunshine and everyone was in fantastic spirits. it was a much better turn out than the first fair in terms of stalls and customers and we felt alot more comfortable having already done it before. we felt we had learnt alot already from the first fair as we were very much getting to grips with the process. we arrived early and set up in no time with no problems what so ever. well apart from severe sunburn but thats another subject entirely. todays fair was arranged by the same person as the buckingham one and we hope to attend more with them as they are brilliantly executed.

Going to buy our stock was SO exciting!! we had researched the wholsalers quite a bit and booked our appointment well in advance. We went there with not so much a budget but a general figure in mind that we would like to stick to and of course we spent three times as much. We were given a full tour of the warehouse and had all the processes described in detail to us, the staff were so friendly and informed it really made the experience valuable and enjoyable. We spent hours handpicking items that were to grace the clothes rails at this summers vintage fairs and pain stakingly trawled through what seemed like THOUSANDS of blouses to select the best ones :) We then bought a pre bagged selection of clothing which was all catagorised according to current trends, ours was titled 'in the jungle' a theme that has been adopted by river island and topshop this summer.

Our first vintage fair :)

This took place in buckingham on sunday 1st April. It was a beautiful little venue used as the town hall and added a lovely vintage feel to the event. Obviously we had a ton of things to do in preperation for our first fair which involved everything from sourcing stock to decorating our little table! (which looked so cute!!) We had personalised stickers printed, purchased paper bags made from recycled materials and had a float made up. As a first experience it went a bit rocky but practise makes perfect and we still made a brilliant profit for a first attempt. I have attached some pictures of marketing and our stall.
